It's a GPS Game

Virtualpunk brings location based gaming to your gps enabled phone (mobile device). We have tried to create a fantasy world on top of the real world. A fantasy world that you are able to access through your gps phone. At the moment we are still in a beta stage and have not been able to test all possible gps phone on the market. We have tested the game client on almost all available gps phones from Nokia and SonyEricsson.

Location Based

The whole concept are centered around your current location. Depending on where you are you will be able to see and interact with different things in the game world. Because of this fact it is essential that your mobile phone get location data from either the internal gps of from a BlueTooth GPS connected to your mobile phone. The best way for you to make sure that you get position data is to be at a place with a clear view of the sky in at lease one direction. Usually standing in a window is enought. If you have not already done so, activate A-GPS (assisted gps). This is a way to speed up the positioning process.

Yes, you can play Virtualpunk for free. All you have to do is to download the game. Get the game by pointing your gps enabled mobile phone to wap.virtualpunk.com.

You have to move with your mobile phone

As said before: Virtualpunk is a GPS Game. So one of the best thing to do if you want to be successful in virtualpunk is to move around; either by walking or by some other means. The GPs Game client keeps track on where you are in the real world and map that location to a location in the game world. the more you play and move the more you will be familar to the game world. After a while you will know where to find a specific NPC or where the entrances to other locations in the game are located.

Layer on layer on layer on...

The game world is build out of different layers or dimension if you want. Each dimension has different monster, NPCs and items. But keep in mind that most of the quests span over several dimension. If you want to travel between the different dimension you need to find the correct portal and fullfill the requirements. Remember that the whole world is your playground so when you are at a new location: start the game client and hook up your GPS phone to see if there are any new or exciting things to explore.
